The Pioneers

Born in Surabaya, May 17 1930, Kartini Muljadi, a 1958 UI Faculty of Law graduate has grown a reputation as one of the best notaries in the country. With early career as a judge in District Court, Jakarta, for 14 years, Kartini decided to open her own notary office in 1973 to which the business runs until this present day. Aside from her notary career, Kartini is also the owner of Revlon Indonesia (Cosmetics and Beauty Products), PT Tempo Scan Pacific (Medicine Distributor), and the shareholder of PT Bates Mulia Indonesia (Advertising) and PT Roche Indonesia (Pharmacy)

Prof. dr. Usman Chatib Warsa SpMK, Ph.D was born in Jakarta on 25 June 1947. Usman graduated from UI Medical Faculty in 1972, gained his license in Microbiology in 1976 and became a Microbiology specialist in 1990, both still from University of Indonesia. Seven years later he gained his Ph.D from Kobe University, Japan. Usman was appointed as the 12th rector of University of Indonesia in 2002 and served until 2007. After his years of service as a rector, he went back to being a lecturer in UI’s Medical Faculty until now.
